Sannock
About the name ...
Sannock is an old Scots word for Sandy and can be found in a letter by
Robert Burns to James Tenant of Glenconer in which he wrote,
"An' Lord remember singing Sannock,
wi' hail breeks, saxpence and a bannock"
Today Sannock is Sandy Marshall, a versatile
singer, songwriter and member of the popular Perthshire folk band, Tarneybackle.

News
It's March
already and we're still up to our ankles in snow here in Blackford!
Spring must be round the corner .....
the question is how long is the corner?
I've listed my solo gigs for the next 3 months and delighted
to be at Duchally most Sunday evenings during the course of this year and also back at The Lade Inn, Callander for more Friday
night performances through 2010. A new venue for me is playing at the Inverbeg Inn near Luss on the bonnnie, bonnie banks
o' Loch Lomond ... looking forward to those gigs as well. The debut solo album "Only Time Can Tell" can be purchased direct
from myself at a cost of £10 + £1.00 for postage. The
album is also available on the internet through Highlander and other distributors including "Music in Scotland".

More information about the 8 songs I've written for
the album is featured on the next page in order to give an insight
into the thoughts which inspired them. The album has been featured
on both the Iain Anderson Show and the Robbie Shepherd "Reel Blend" show on BBC Radio Scotland. I was absolutely
delighted to receive such prestigious airplay and thank Iain and Robbie very much for their very kind comments about
the album.
Keep in touch and
hopefully see you at a gig! Best wishes, Sandy
